Jimmy Amadie

Jimmy Amadie is a jazz musician from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is a music educator, and was known for his bebop style of piano-playing. He has worked with such luminaries as Coleman Hawkins, Mel Tormé, Woody Herman. Amadie is a legend among jazz insiders because, for much of his career, his severe tendinitis has limited his playing ability to a few minutes per month, but his passion for jazz history and theory has energized his teaching, and inspired many others.Fact|date=October 2007
