Kadré Désiré Ouedraogo (born
1953 ) served as Prime Minister ofBurkina Faso from6 February 1996 to7 November 2000 . Since 2001, Ouedraogo has been ambassador to theUnited Kingdom .Ouedraogo was Deputy Governor of the
Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) until he was appointed as Prime Minister by PresidentBlaise Compaoré on6 February 1996 ; at the time of his appointment he had no political affiliation. Compaoré reappointed Ouedraogo as Prime Minister onJanuary 11 , with few changes in the composition of his government. By this time Ouedraogo was a member of the ruling party, theCongress for Democracy and Progress (CDP).
