The station has been with the Top 40 format since 1979. Jerry Kristafer was the first morning man on the station. Floyd Wright was the first afternoon drive jock. Willie B. Goode (former Z-100/NY & WPLJ/NY) was the first night jock. Many of the first jocks came from their sister radio station at that time 1300am WAVZ/New Haven. Its on air position is "KC101.3".
