Wurmberg Aerial Tramway

The Wurmberg Aerial Tramway was built in 1953 in Wurmberg, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is a gondola lift, often called a cable car, which is a type of an Aerial tramway and is used for transporting skiers and other tourists to the top of Wurmberg mountain. The longest gondola lift has a length of 1.7 miles, leading from the Braunlage resort on the 3,185.7 foot high Wurmberg mountain. The gondola lift has small cable cars, and is considered as the longest in Northern Germany, with a vertical height of 1,312.3 feet. The Wurmberg Aerial Tramway does not soar high above the trees, in contrast to the Bodetal aerial tramway. Wurmberg also differs from other lifs in that it has a central station, which one can ride through without disembarking.
