Early life and career
Bishop was born in
Orpington ,Kent . After appearing on the television series, "Grange Hill", he was cast asJim Hawkins in the 1996 movie, "Muppet Treasure Island ". He subsequently appeared in several Britishtelevision series, including "Pie in the Sky ", "Love Soup ", "My Family ", "Peep Show" and "Spoons". He also played the title role in the 2002 television pantomime, "Dick Whittington ", as well as the lead role in the 2002 film, "Food of Love ", and the 2004 film, "Suzie Gold ", starringSummer Phoenix .In 2005 he played comedian
Dudley Moore on stage in "", a drama charting Moore's turbulent relationship withPeter Cook , which debuted at the Assembly Rooms as part of theEdinburgh Fringe before transferring to The Venue inLondon 's West End in March 2006.He could recently be seen in the
Channel 4 British Comedy Awards 2006 winning comedy "Star Stories ".He is currently appearing in the UK adverts for the bank
NatWest . The first edition of his new sketch series, "The Kevin Bishop Show ", commissioned by Channel 4 as a six part series, aired on 25 July 2008.He is married.
