A free kick is a method of resuming play in various forms of football, including:
* Association football (soccer)
** Indirect free kick
** Direct free kick
** Penalty kick
* American football
** Kickoff; used to put the ball in play at the start of the first and third periods, after a Try-after-touchdown, and after a successful field goal.
** Free kick; used to restart play after a safety.
* Rugby football
