John Cromwell Bell, Jr. (b. October 25 1892, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; d. March 18 1974) was a Pennsylvania politician and judge.

He served as Lieutenant Governor of Pennsylvania, 1943-47, and Governor briefly in 1947, succeeding Edward Martin, who had resigned to take a seat in the United States Senate. He was a justice of the Pennsylvania supreme court, 1950-72; chief justice, 1961-72.

He was the older brother of Bert Bell, commissioner of the National Football League. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and a lifetime member of St. Anthony Hall.
