She later attendedJordanhill College where she trained as a social worker.Since 2003 she has been a
Deputy Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament and so must remain impartial when presiding in the chamber.Her husband is
Norman Godman , who was aMember of Parliament for Greenock and Inverclyde and its predecessor seat from 1983 to 2001 while Gary Mulgrew, one of theNatWest Three , is her son.References
