Pavel Petrovich Kadochnikov ( _ru. Павел Петрович Кадочников) (OldStyleDate|16 July|1915|
29 July –2 May 1988 ) was aRussia n actor, film director and scenario.People's Artist of the USSR (1979),Hero of Socialist Labor (1985).Biography
Pavel Kadochnikov was born in
Petrograd . In 1927 he entered the children's artistic studio, dreaming to become professional artist. But because of the severe illness of his father, Pavel, as the elder in the family, was forced to go the apprentice of the metal craftsman to the plantRed putilovets . However, he continued to learn in the studio. In 1929 suddenly he became enthusiastic about theater and entered the actor's department of theatrical school of TYuZ. In 1935 he graduated fromLeningrad theatrical institute and until 1944 played on the scene of the Leningrad's New TYuZ.He began to act in the cinema in 1935, his first role was Mikhas in the film "Maturity". On the screen Kadochnikov was not pleased to himself and decided to never act more in the cinema. Nevertheless, in 1937 he assumed
Sergey Yutkevich 's invitation and appeared in the tiny episode in the film "The man with the gun". Kadochnikov has the talent for reincarnation. In many plays he performed several roles, in one of them he performed at once eight roles. In 1940 he played two diverse roles (of worker Lenka Sukhov and writerMaxim Gorky ) in the film "Yakov Sverdlov " directed by Sergey Yutkevich. In the masterpiece "Ivan the Terrible " ofSergei Eisenstein he not only brilliantly conducted the tragic line of the pretenderVladimir of Staritsa , but also played two small roles (of сhaldean and Yevstafy). The breadth of his actor's range was confirmed by lyric roles ("Anton Ivanovich is angry", "The tamer of tigers") and undoubtedly by role of major Fedotov in the "Secret Agent" of
Boris Barnet : in this "cult" character ofSoviet cinema organically mixed the patheticalness, man charm and irony. For the roles in the patriotic movies three years running he became the laureate of theStalin Prize (in 1948 for the "Secret Agent", in 1949 for the role of Alexei Maresiev in the "Story of a Real Man ", in 1951 - for the role of Kovshov in the film "Far from Moscow"). Time and again actor appeared in the role of Maxim Gorky. From 1960s he began to move away from the semiofficial-patriotic roles, gravitating towards to the typical heroes of wide spectrum (drama of everyday life, detective , fairy tale films). In 1965 Kadochnikov tried his forces in the direction, staged on the
Lenfilm the movie "The musicians of one regiment" (together withGannady Kazansky ). Already in this debut film about the times of Civil War appeared his interest in thefolklore heroes and the subjects. In 1968 he filmed the fairy tale ofAlexander Ostrovsky "Snow Maiden ", where played the role of Berendey. In 1970-1980s the actor's successes became the roles of classical repertoire (Triletsky in the "Unfinished play for the mechanical piano", prince Kuchumov in "Easy money"), and also the picturesque figures of "Russian old men" (eternal grandfather in "Siberiade ", uncle Roman in "Here they did not fly in seagull"). In "Lenin in Paris " he playsPaul Lafargue .In later years he played in the character roles ("Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", "Last visit"); staged films "I will never forget you" (about the fate of Soviet soldier and his wife, separated by war), "Silver strings" (about the Russian virtuoso
balalaika -playerVasily Andreev ).Filmography
