William George Hunt, TD, FCA is the current Windsor Herald of Arms in Ordinary at the College of Arms in London. Hunt worked for many years in the City of London as a chartered accountant. He was appointed as Portcullis Pursuivant of Arms in Ordinary in 1992 and in 1999 he was appointed as Windsor Herald. In 2007 he took over the position of Registrar of the College of Arms from Timothy Duke, Chester Herald. He is also Clerk of HM Commission of Lieutenancy for the City of London, a Member of Common Council of the Corporation of London and a Liveryman and a past Master (2000–2001) of the Worshipful Company of Makers of Playing Cards. He was also a Major of the Honourable Artillery Company, but is now retired. He is married and has two sons.
Coat of arms
Hunt's coat of arms was granted by the College of Arms on 29 June 1970. The blazon is "Azure a Stag's Head caboshed Argent on a Chief Or a Rose Gules seeded and barbed proper between two Talbots passant Sable". This was granted along with a crest which is blazoned "A demi Talbot Sable winding a Bugle Horn Gules garnished Or held in the dexter forepaw".
