- Clatford
-
Clatford is a small hamlet situated approximately one mile from the village of Manton and about three miles from Marlborough, which is the nearest notable town, in Wiltshire, England.
Clatford is a rural community made up of several houses clustered around a central crossroads with several other houses spread further out.
A notable point of interest is the local hotel, West Woods, known for its spectacular bluebells at the appropriate time of year. The Marlborough Lions Club runs a weekend in association with the Forestry Commission during which people can drive through the wood and experience the beauty of the bluebells from the comfort of a vehicle. Also of interest in Clatford is the River Kennet and the donkey field which is a great place for kids to feed the donkeys (they like carrots).
Clatford is a close knit community with a great variety of people all coming from different backgrounds. Community events are often organized by Clatford residents to celebrate various occasions. In 2005 there was a Clatford BBQ celebrating the anniversary of VE Day.
