Dick and Dee Dee . Their first hit, "The Mountain's High", was released in 1961, and the duo had several other hits before they disbanded in 1969. After her music career ended, Phelps worked in the fashion industry, fund raising, and property management before becoming a full-time writer in 1992. In 2006, Phelps published her first book, "Vinyl Highway", a memoir of her life on the road. Today, Phelps lives with her husband inPacific Palisades, California and has three adult children.During the years that she spent writing "Vinyl Highway", Dee Dee attended UCLA's writer's program, as well as numerous memoir classes. She was also a participant of the "Maui Writers Retreat 2003."
