- Åsebakken Priory
Åsebakken Priory, or the Priory of Our Lady, Åsebakken, is a Benedictine nunnery at
Birkerød , about 20 km north ofCopenhagen inDenmark . The nunnery is a member of theBeuronese Congregation within theBenedictine Confederation .Founded in 1914 in Copenhagen, as a nunnery of the
Perpetual Adoration , the community changed to a Benedictine house under the influence of the Beuronese mode of life in 1937.The nunnery moved to the present premises, a former country house, in 1942. Although the Beuronese Constitution was adopted in 1936, formal incorporation was completed only in 1988.
