"World Heroes Perfect" "(ワールド ヒーローズ パーフェクト)" is a fighting game that was created by ADK in 1995 for the Neo-Geo, it is also the first title in the series that was only ported to the Sega Saturn. Ironically, it is also the last game of the World Heroes series.

The general premise is that a scientist, Dr. Brown, having perfected a time machine, organized a tournament for various fighters throughout all of history to combat each other. True to this plot, many of the fighters are based on actual historical figures. There are 19 fighters to pick from.

Gameplay

There is the traditional Arcade mode, VS. mode, and a CPU VS. mode, in which players pick any one of the 19 fighters, then choose the CPU opponent from any of the 19 fighters, along with any of the 12 stages to battle on. In World Heroes Perfect, each character had a traditional four-button attack layout, but could also achieve stronger attacks by pushing down two respective punch or kick buttons at the same time.

A new feature is that every character has an ABC Special Move that can be activated by pressing the A, B, and C buttons at the same time. Moves vary by character, though they all require strategic use and are easy to activate, allowing for more tactical battles. For example, the character Fuuma's ABC Special allows him to fake a special move; J. Max's ABC Special allows him to catch, hold onto, and throw back projectiles; and Kim Dragon's ABC Special allows him to perform counters while blocking.

Marketing and Reception

The game was released to fewer arcades than the previous installments. On the home consoles, it was only released for the Neo Geo, and only in Japan for the Sega Saturn. As a result, many fans had no knowledge of the game's existence.

The limited release was possibly because of many dismissing World Heroes series as another generic "SF clone series." Though the installments has some unique concepts, the clunky controls and the "ripoff" reputation harmed sales. Due to this, the series was discontinued making World Heroes Perfect the last game of the series, although it has received a cult following, mainly around the Neo Geo fans.
