Kilobyte (Ace Lightning)

Kilobyte (Ace Lightning)

Kilobyte is a supervillain from the BBC programme, Ace Lightning. The Cyber Stalker, created by Rick Hubble (AKA The Master Programmer), Kilobyte is hell-bent on his life goal: To destroy Ace Lightning and conquer the world. Kilobyte has one of the weirdest designs in the range of villains in the show. He resembles a muscular bald man, with tattoos sprinkled all over his head. He wears a body suit and has four octopus tentacles. Kilobyte has a pet wasp named Fred who he uses as a transport. Concept art shows that Kilobyte was originally going to be another characters named Scrambler who had six octopus tentacles and had dreadlocks.

Personality

Kilobyte is a cold-hearted man with no time for failure and generally believes everyone else (except himself, his beloved pet wasp Fred and possibly Lady Illusion) are pathetic and weak. He briefly saw potential in Random Virus in becoming an ally, but underestimated Random's loyalty to the Lightning Knights. He is generally emotionless apart from having an occasional outbursts of rage and shows love towards Fred. He also been amused by at times, mainly when Ace fears him. His grim expression that hangs from his face usually decides what mood he is in. When running his own agenda, Kilobyte has an insane cackle and becomes a ruthless, unforgiving and merciless villain.

Abilities

*Kilobyte has somewhat superhuman strength, although most of his strength lies in his tentacles.
*Kilobyte's four tentacles have unlimited length. They can enter a game character's wire-frame form and drain them of their energy.
*The tentacles can also upgrade characters. This is shown when Kilobyte upgrades Lady Illusion with some new explosives, which also grant her the ability to give Ace human emotions.
*Kilobyte can drain computers of their power.

History

After the destruction of Lord Fear and his gang of villains at the end of Season 1, Rick Hubble was outraged and plotted revenge against the Lightning Knights, Mark and for an unknown reason, Chuck (despite the fact Chuck was unaware of Ace Lightning's existence). Rick designed a diabolical plan for world conquest and even gave himself a nickname of the Master Programmer. He created Kilobyte, a powerful warlord and hunter-like figure who would be his pawn in the new plan. Kilobyte's programme was stored on a CD called "Kilobyte Programme 2" - this may relate to the scrapped character Scrambler. A backup file was stored on a red floppy disk hidden under the cash register in Rick's computer store. Whether or not another file was created is unknown.

Kilobyte was emerged in the Carnival of Doom from Rick's computer mainframe, and through the carnival's new Ferris wheel attraction. Upon arrival, Kilobyte's form was hidden from view, his face and full body never shown until the next episode. Duff, expecting someone new to arrive, was very rude to Kilobyte, despite his haunting manner and appearance. Kilobyte spends his first days on Earth observing various characters in the shadows, generally insulting them and believing they were pathetic, particularly Ace and Lord Fear.

Kilobyte revealed himself to the villains soon after his arrival and quickly conquered the carnival, by terrifying the villains and absorbing all of Anvil's power using his tentacles. Dirty Rat was the first to join Kilobyte and the others slowly joined his side. Dirty Rat started a running gag in which Kilobyte would punch or throw the flying rodent away in annoyance. Kilobyte quickly put his (or Rick's) plan into motion, upgrading Lady Illusion with a new ability to give Ace Lightning human emotions outside his programmed ones, as well as upgrading her crystal ball bombs into fiery orange balls. Upon receiving these new emotions, Ace was uncontrollable and nearly killed Chuck with a lightning bolt.

When Ace and Kilobyte first met, Ace became terrified of Kilobyte, but tried to hide it at first. KIlobyte, Dirty Rat, Duff and Rotgut (by accident) travelled after Ace to a farm in the countryside where Duff was instructed to collect a common wasp from a hive. Duff succeeded (getting his nose stung too) and brought the bug to Kilobyte, who surprisingly allowed the wasp to sting him. However, the three others learnt that the sting caused the wasp to mutate and transform into a giant killing machine with enormous pincers and even bigger wings. Fred and Kilobyte baffled and beat Ace and were victorious, Kilobyte happy that he had made Ace taste defeat.

Kilobyte's next big step involved kidnapping Ace and Mark, persuading Random Virus to join the villains and allowing Fred to try and eat the Lightning Knights. Ace and Mark battled against Fred and generally were winning. Kilobyte tried to murder Mark but Random Virus, Sparx and Chuck saved the day and Kilobyte was forced to make a retreat. Kilobyte then did Lord Fear one final chance to redeem himself as a worthy villain so Lord Fera hires Mr. Cheseborough to make a formula which could drain Ace's power. As a reward, Kilobyte presented Lord Fear with the Doom Wagon. Kilobyte next stole another piece of the Amulet from Mark's backyard and used it to summon Pigface to Earth. Googler reappeared soon after, plus Lady Illusion returning to her rightful place in the Carnival of Doom.

Mark and Chuck found Kilobyte's programme and as a result, they learnt Rick created Kilobyte. Rick revealed his past and future plans to power up Kilobyte to make him invincible. A power outage caused the store's power to go out and Kilobyte finally gained a mind of his own and planned to conquer the world on his own. Now quite a ruthless, insane and evil tyrant, Kilobyte's ultimate plan was perfect. He began to eliminate the Lightning Knights and other targets, their first targets being Random Virus, Mr. Cheseborough and Rick. Random was defeated and dragged back to the carnival by Anvil. Cheseborough was captured and imprisoned in the Sixth Dimension. However, this was just the beginning.

Kilobyte's master plan was to imprison the Lightning Knights and the entire human race within the game so he and the villains of the Sixth Dimension could rule in their stead. Ace and Lord Fear teamed up and defeated the villains one by one. Kilobyte cornered Mark, who was rescuing Kat, Sparx and Random (all who had been previously captured) and obtained the final piece of the Amulet. Ace (who was really Lady Illusion), Mark and Lord Fear teamed up and fired their attacks at Kilobyte, destroying him and sending him to the game where he attempts to force Rick to get him back to Earth.

"You were the Master Programmer. I'm the master and I will not rest until you take us back to the Carnival of Doom!""

In Season 3, Kilobyte was going to be in control of the Sixth Dimension with Rick and possibly Lady Illusion as his prisoners. Ace was going to rescue Lady Illusion and possibly free Rick and Kilobyte in the process.
