Wílmer Cabrera Linares (born September 15, 1967 in Barranquilla) is a retired football defender who was capped 48 times and scored 3 international goals for Colombia between 1989 and 1998 [ [http://www.rsssf.com/miscellaneous/col-recintlp.html rsssf: Colombia record international footballers] ] .

Cabrera played three matches at the 1998 World Cup, and was an unused substitute for the 1990 World Cup. He also played in four editions of Copa América in 1989, 1991, 1995 and 1997.

His clubs include América de Cali, Millonarios, Chicó FC, Independiente of Argentina, CS Herediano of Costa Rica and Long Island Rough Riders of the United States.

In 2007 Wílmer started working in Major League Soccer's front office as a Fan Development, manager. Working on hispanic grassroot and youth programs.

He is currently an assistant coach for Suffolk County Community College men soccer team. Wilmer also coaches a top ranked youth soccer team, B.W. Gottschee, which is based out of Queens.

Wílmer earned his USSF A Coaching License in 2005 and has been a member of the U.S. Under-18 Men’s National Team staff since January 2007, serving as an assistant coach. He was named by the United States Soccer Federation as head coach of the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team on October 25 2007, and will lead the team in preparations for the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Nigeria.
