Innoshima, Hiroshima

nihongo|Innoshima|因島市|Innoshima-shi was a city located in Hiroshima, Japan. On January 10, 2006, Innoshima merged, as part of ongoing "gappei", into the expanded city of Onomichi and no longer exists as an independent municipality.

As of 2003, the city had an estimated population of 27,465 and the density of 690.77 persons per km2. The total area was 39.76 km².

The city was founded on May 1, 1953.

Innoshima is the birthplace of Honinbo Shusaku, the master Go player.
