Ushiku, Ibaraki

nihongo|Ushiku|牛久市|Ushiku-shi is a city located in Ibaraki, Japan.

As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 75,190 and a density of 1,276.79 persons per km². The total area is 58.89 km².

The city was founded on June 1, 1986, and is home to the world's tallest statue.Additional attractions include Chateau Kamiya, a wine chateau started in 1901, and Lake Ushiku, a scenic lake that is said to be the birthplace of the mythical Kappa (folklore) beast.
