Joi Gordon

Joi Gordon is the chief executive officer of Dress for Success Worldwide [http://www.dressforsuccess.org] , a grassroots organization that has provided business-appropriate professional clothing, mentoring and professional development services to more than 450,000 low-income women seeking employment since 1997. In this role at the international headquarters of Dress for Success, which oversees 89 affiliates across the globe representing 7 countries. Joi is responsible for the continued growth of the organization’s presence and programming, marketing efforts and fundraising initiatives. In addition, Joi maintains close ties with and supplies resources to all of the Dress for Success affiliates around the world.

History

An attorney, prior to her work in the non-profit sector Joi was an assistant district attorney in Bronx County Criminal Court.

Among her professional activities and relationships, Joi serves on the women's advisory board of American Airlines, Office Depot and VOICES, an imprint of Hyperion books. She also is a member of the Greater Queens Chapter of The Links, Inc. One of her most rewarding experiences as a volunteer was serving as Principal for a Day in the New York City Board of Education as part of the PENCIL program.

Having earned her B.A. degree in radio/ television broadcasting, Joi received a Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. In 2007 Joi was awarded an Ellis Island Medal of Honor and has received numerous community and civic awards.

Joi lives in Queens with her husband Errol, where they own and operate a fleet of luxury limousines.Joi Gordon has 2 children Sydney and Nicholas Gordon who are both in I.C.S.
