Anastasiya Alexandrovna Vertinskaya ( _ru. Анастасия Александровна Вертинская) (born 19 December 1944), a Russian actress.

Anastasiya Vertinskaya was born in Moscow in the family of famous artist Alexander Vertinsky. Anastasiya made her film debut as a schoolgirl of 15 portraying Assol in "Scarlet Sails", a film version of beloved Alexander Grin book. She was personally invited to audition by the film director Aleksandr Ptushko. The film came out in 1961 and was an instant success, immediately making Anastasiya a celebrity. Alongside Vertinskaya, the film employed many of the present and future stars of Soviet cinema, including Vasily Lanovoy, Ivan Pereverzev, Sergey Martinson, and Oleg Anofriev.

In 1962 Vertinskaya gave another successful performance as Guttieres, a young woman in love with an amphibiam man in "Amphibian Man". The film was directed by Gennadi Kazanskiy and Vladimir Chebotarev, and based on the Alexander Belyayev's book of the same name. In the same year the actress joined to the company of the Pushkin Theater in Moscow.

She continued excelling in dramatic roles, playing Ophelia in "Hamlet" - a well-known adaptation of the Shakespearean play, directed by Grigori Kozintsev. In 1968 after graduating the Shchepkin theatrical school she began to work in the Sovremennik Theatre, and from 1980 in the Moscow Art Theatre. Her later notable roles in film and television include "War and Peace", "Anna Karenina", "Enamoureds", "The Gadfly", "Case of Polynin", "Nameless star".

In 1978 Vertinskaya was given the honor of People's Artist of the RSFSR.

Towards the end of the 1980s Vertinskaya (together with Aleksandr Kalyagin) gave master classes of theatrical craftsmanship in Oxford, as well as working with the Comédie-Française, and in the European film school in Switzerland. She currently teaching acting in France, in the Chekhov's school.

In the recent years Anastasiy Vertinskaya acted in the film "Thirst of passion" (1991) of Andrey Kharitonov and in "Master and Margarita" (1994) of Yuri Kara.

She is currently married to Alexander Gradsky, and is a former wife of famous Russian film director Nikita Mikhalkov.
