Leslie Carrara-Rudolph is an actress, singer, performer and puppeteer.
Leslie Carrara-Rudolph can currently be seen performing on "
Sesame Street ", as the newly introduced characterAbby Cadabby who this season has become a full cast member after a successful episodes in season 37. She also performs Ginger the sprite (the pink one) on the Disney Channel's hit musical show "Johnny and the Sprites ", now in its second season.Carrara-Rudolph has written and produced several successful one woman shows with her most recent "Young At Heart" being a cabaret-style show with her original puppet characters (Lolly, Velvet Lambmore, Slax and Dot) all taking part in the show.
Carrara-Rudolph is also a part of the Jim Henson Company's "Puppet Up" when she can be due to her heavy performance schedule on the above shows.
Carrara-Rudolph joined the cast of the podcast series "
The Radio Adventures of Dr. Floyd " in the season three premiere and has guest starred several times since, once playing opposite the legendary Chuck McCann!Carrara-Rudolph favorite gig is performing her original, candy-obsessed character, Lolly, who performs with her in several clubs and events in New York and LA, as well as working in children's outreach programs. They (Leslie & Lolly) just released a children's CD called "Spunkinsass", now available directly on CD Baby's site or through Leslie's official webisite (below)
She has just finished taping the PBS animated series "Nate The Great" performing as the lead character of Nate. The show is based on the successful series of children's detective books and will start airing sometime in the near future.
Carrara-Rudolph began her Muppeteer career on "
Muppets Tonight ", where she played the Pamela Anderson take-off characterSpamela Hamderson in the sketchBay of Pigs Watch . She also usually puppeteeredJ.P. Grosse , when the character was not speaking, and was the assistant puppeteer forJohnny Fiama .Shortly thereafter, Leslie performed the lead character
Edi in Henson's "Animal Jam " for TLC, and was the first puppeteer and originated the voice for Blue when he became 3D for Nickelodeon's "Blue's Room ".Carrara-Rudolph was also the creative mastermind behind the all original live stage production "Wahoo Wagon" held at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood and produced by The Walt Disney Company. The show starred Leslie and a huge cast of original puppets designed and written by Carrara-Rudolph. The show was based on Carrara-Rudolph's original material "Madame Garbonzo's Wahoo Wagon" which ran locally in small theaters in the community when someone from Disney tapped her to bring it to a larger audience.
Leslie portrayed the human kiddie-show star, Miss Poppy, in the satirical play "
Pigeon-Holed ", written by "Sesame" writerAnnie Evans and Sesame puppeteer regulars. She also does regular voiceover work, including characters inZatch Bell andRatchet and Clank and The Simpsons.Carrara-Rudolph is sometimes credited as "Leslie Carrara" or the mis-spelling "Leslie Carrera-Rudolph".
