But it has been proposed that its main objectives are to gather and transmit data focusing on meteorology. It is to be launched on June 15 2009 by a Delta II rocket. The proposed orbiter is in priority for cancellation due to budget calls and for accomplishing short-term goals like to service the aging Hubble Space Telescope, completion of the International Space Station by 2010, and for the Crew Exploration Vehicle to fly at latest in 2014.
