- Hope and Homes for Children
Hope and Homes for Children (HHC) is a registered charity working in 13 countries in Eastern Europe and Africa. Their head office is based in the English County of Wiltshire, in the United Kingdom.
At [Hope and Homes for Children] , they believe that above all else, every child should live within a caring family environment.
Hope and Homes for Children work with children, their families and communities across Central and Eastern Europe and Africa to ensure that children grow up in an environment where they have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
Hope and Homes for Children move children out of institutions into family-based care, help keep together families at risk of breakdown due to the pressures of poverty, disease or conflict and work to prevent child abandonment.
Mission
Their stated mission is "to give hope to the poorest children in the world - those who are orphaned, abandoned or vulnerable - by enabling them to grow up within the love of a family and the security of a home, so that they can fulfill their potential".
Hope and Homes for Children was established by Colonel Mark Cook and his wife Caroline. The first project was an orphanage in Croatia, in a town called Lipik.
