rugby league club based atKougari Oval , which is in the suburb of Manly West inBrisbane ,Queensland ,Australia . They competed in the Brisbane Rugby League from1951 to1997 . Since1996 they have competed in theQueensland Cup . Their jersey is red, green and white. From1995 to2005 they were known as the Wynnum Seagulls. In 2006 Wynnum Manly started the 100.3 Bay FM live Rugby League for the Wynnum Manly QLD Cup games. The commentators areMike Higgison and former ABC radio personalityTroy Robbins .History
Wynnum-Manly first played in the Brisbane premiership in
1931 , but withdrew from the competition at the outbreak ofWorld War II . After the war, the Seagulls re-entered the premiership in1951 as the Wynnum Manly District Rugby League Football Club.Before moving to their current home ground of
BMD Kougari Oval in 1967, the club played at Kitchener park. (Kitchener Park is now the home of the Wynnum Manly Junior Rugby League Club.)The Seagulls won the Brisbane premiership in 1982, 1984, 1986 and 1995. They were runners up in 1985. Wynnum Manly Seagulls have a very successful coach, Shane Mcnally. In 2007 they haven't played as well as they would have liked but are aiming for the finals next year. Famous former Seagulls include Wally Lewis (the king) and Gene Miles.The seagulls made the finals in 2008 but in the first semi were un sucssesful losing 50-16 against Redcliffe Dolphins.
