Peter Landy

Peter Landy is an Australian television presenter.

Beginning his career in the early 1960s - after attending the Jesuit Xavier College - he started with Radio 3UL, Warragul co-ordinating horse racing and football broadcasts. He later moved to 3UZ Melbourne reporting and presenting news. In 1967 he moved to 3AK and also began with TV station Channel 9. In 1971 he moved to Seven Network Melbourne sport reporting. He commentated Australian rules football (VFL) games and was noted for his smooth, dry tones. He also covered tennis, boxing and several Olympic Games, covering rowing events. In the 1970s his commentary was highly rated by viewers.
A quote from Landy: "North Melbourne 24 points, Melbourne are yet to score, the difference 22 points." [http://www.planet-q.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=Sports&Number=716&page=0&fpart=2]

In the 1990s, Landy suffered a nervous breakdown but returned to commentary with the Seven Network, hosting football in the late 1990s. He was also a newsreader.

He has recently made a comeback with the Nine Network, commentating the Boxing at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
