Scottish Independence Party
- Scottish Independence Party
The Scottish Independence Party (SIP) is a Scottish political party, which was formed prior to the Scottish Parliamentary Election, 2003.
They have no fixed policy portfolio, beyond Scottish independence. They argue that this is necessary in order to encompass the support of any person seeking an independent Scotland without having to accept extraneous policies that they may find exclusive or unrepresentative.
Their primary campaigns, to date, have been directed at safeguarding the independence of Scots law and encouraging the development of Scotland's international relations.
The SIP contested the Airdrie and Shotts seat in the 2005 general election with Josey Rowan as their candidate. This was their first electoral contest and they polled poorly, gathering only 337 votes, 1% of the total votes cast in the constituency.
