Higeoyaji is a middle-aged Japanese man (actually 42 years old, as he said in Volume 1 of the "Astro Boy" manga), is from
Tokyo , and is prematurely bald, portly, and has, his most distinguishing feature, a largemoustache . (The moustache, which gives him a resemblance to awalrus , is the reason for his nickname in the English version of the anime -- although as a bonus it is also a pun on the name ofDaddy Warbucks .)In most of his manga/anime appearances, Higeoyaji is a
private investigator , ateacher (especially in "Astro Boy", at Ochanomizu Elementary School), an expert at various martial arts (judo ,boxing ,karate ,pro wrestling , andaikido are mentioned), as well as practiced in flower arranging.Prominent roles
