Northrop Mall

Northrop Mall

Northrop Mall is arguably the center of the Minneapolis campus at the University of Minnesota. Specifically it is the common area surrounded by the core buildings of the University; most prominent is Northrop Memorial Auditorium. The other major buildings surrounding Northrop Mall are Smith Hall (Chemistry), Walter Library, Johnston Hall (College of Liberal Arts offices), Morrill Hall (administration), Tate Laboratory of Physics (Physics), and Vincent Hall (Mathematics). Across the street (Washington Avenue) is Coffman Memorial Union.

When the weather is warm, the grassy areas of Northrop Mall are social hot spots.
