Benjamin LaShaun Troupe (born September 1, 1982 in city-state|Swainsboro|Georgia) is an American football tight end for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Florida.

Troupe has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Early years

Troupe graduated from Butler High School in Augusta, Georgia along with the Washington Redskins cornerback Carlos Rogers.

College career

Ben Troupe played college football for the University of Florida. He finished his career there with 64 receptions for 958 yards (14.9 yards per catch) and 7 touchdowns.

Professional career

Tennessee Titans

Troupe was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played for the team from 2004 to 2007. During his stint with the Titans, he earned his legendary nickname, "Troup Scadoop"

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

He signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on March 6, 2008. He was released on September 16 after tight end Jerramy Stevens returned from suspension.

Oakland Raiders

Three days after his release from the Buccaneers, Troupe was signed by the Oakland Raiders on September 19, 2008.
