Billy Baker

Billy Baker

Billy Baker (3 October 1920 in Penrhiwceiber – 11 February 2005) was a Welsh professional footballer.

His first club was Troedrhiw, from which he moved in January 1938 to Cardiff City His time with Cardiff was interrupted by World War II, but he stayed with them until 1955. After playing for Cardiff, he transferred to Ipswich Town, where he ended his playing days. When he left Ipswich he returned to Cardiff, where be became an ambulance driver, remaining a well recognised figure to older fans, and continued playing amateur football until 1959 for Ton Pentre in the Welsh League.
