Israel competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, West Germany, which began on August 26. On September 5, eleven of the Israeli team were captured and murdered by terrorists. The remainder of the team left Munich the following day. "In the following lists, the names of the five athletes, two officials, and four coaches who were killed are in bold."
