Russell Elevado (born Russell Roque Elevado in 1966 in the
Philippines ), aka Russ Elevado, is arecording engineer andrecord producer raised inNew York City . Elevado's achievement forrecording andmixing R&B recording artistD'Angelo 's critically acclaimed"Voodoo" album, gained him aGrammy award in 2000. Following the success of Voodoo, he has worked with some of the most influential artists and producers of his time. Elevado's work is considered to have a "vintage sound" and he remains faithful toanalog recording techniques and equipment in the modern era ofdigital recording . He is one of only a handful of engineers and producers who still use analog tape as their recording medium which sets him apart from most of his peers.
