John Young (Cryptome)

John Young is a New York based architect, but is better known as the controversial Internet activist who created and maintains Cryptome.org. Cryptome is a web-based mirror of government information, memorandums, policy documents, and records.

Public opinion on Cryptome is varied. Stewart Baker, former general counsel for the National Security Agency, opined to "Reader's Digest": "If the material is leaked to you, you can probably publish that ... unfortunately, it's not illegal to be a jerk."
