- Hate studies
Hate Studies is an interdisciplinary curriculum being developed by a consortium of academics, scholars, human rights groups, and others.
The process grew out of conversations sparked by the
Gonzaga University Institute for Action against Hate which held a Conference to Establish the Field of Hate Studies inSpokane, Washington ,March 20 ,2004 .According to
Kenneth S. Stern of theAmerican Jewish Committee , "An academic program is desperately needed to study why hatred has been a common human experience....What you create at Gonzaga can be a model for the nation."A number of papers presented at the conference were published in a special 'Journal of Hate Studies" issue on establishing the field of Hate Studies.
