* 1902 – The Pennsylvania, New York and Long Island Railroad, a predecessor of the Pennsylvania Tunnel and Terminal Railroad, is incorporated.
* 1917 – Colorado Midland declares bankruptcy for the second time, but the company will not be able to recover from this bankruptcy.
* 1917 – The 103rd Street-Corona Plaza station on New York City Subway's IRT Flushing Line opens.
* 1977 – Indiana Governor Otis R. Bowen signs into law an act forming the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District which will take over passenger service from the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad.
