Esther Newberg

Biography

Newberg's mother was the Democratic National Committeewoman from Connecticut. Newberg attended Wheaton College, majoring in government, and then became a political operative. She worked for the Senate subcommittee on government reorganization, and then joined Senator Robert F. Kennedy's staff in 1968. She also worked for Abraham Ribicoff and as staff director for U.S. Representative Bella Abzug. She was member in the presidential campaign staffs of Senator Edmund Muskie and Representative Mo Udall.

Literary agent

As of 2007, Newberg is the senior vice president at International Creative Management, a talent agency in New York. She has represented authors such as Carl Hiaasen ("Skinny Dip") and Patricia Cornwell ("Trace"), Thomas Friedman, Michael Beschloss and Caroline Kennedy.
