You Call This Music?! Volume 1

You Call This Music?! Volume 1

The first in a series of compilation albums from Geykido Comet Records that features international up and coming punk bands, as well as bands who have had appearances on Alternative Tentacles, Plan It X Records, Fat Wreck, Kung Fu Records, Hopeless Records, Lookout Records, Recess Records, Sympathy for the Record Industry, Bluurg Records, BYO Records, Slap A Ham, and Panic Button. The CD artwork was done by NYC artist Fly.

The album title is believed to have been derived from and poking fun at the Top-40.

Additional facts

The compilation featuring bands such as Tsunami Bomb, Intro5pect, Falling Sickness, D.O.A., Citizen Fish, and Useless ID among others and having such a low retail price helped catapult it into becoming an underground classic. Selling out in only a few months from the release date the label quickly repressed the CD and two years later issued the second and final installment in the series, You Call This Music?! Volume 2.
