The knoll is named after the Bulgarian town of Shabla and the nearby Shabla Point on the Black Sea coast.

The knoll is located at coord|62|37|34|S|59|51|15|W| which is convert|2.3|km|mi|abbr=on|lk=on|0 km ENE of Elena Peak and convert|3|km|mi|abbr=on|0 SW of Renier Point (Bulgarian mapping in 2005).
