Army Beach is a sub-division of Marsh Lake, Yukon, Canada.

Army Beach comprises residential areas along Marsh Lake 45 Km outside the capitol city of Whitehorse. It includes a beautiful campground, day use area and severalprivate lakefront properties. The area is part of the Whitehorse Census Agglomeration.While most residents work in Whitehorse, some residents are engaged in agriculture or wilderness tourism activities or Bed and Breakfasts. The area is served by the Marsh Lake Fire/Rescue Service, 911 from Whitehorse.

History

During World War II, the Alaska Highway Project was routed along Marsh Lake, the military engineers were headquartered in Whitehorse. During a nice summer daythe daughters of one of the officers decided to explore the swampy area off the northwestend of Marsh Lake, during their hike they discovered a large shallow sandy and warm bay, with a huge crescent of clean white sand beach. It became cottage lots first for the militarythen some local residents, and it is still called Army Beach.
