Jethro Franklin

Jethro Franklin (born October 25, 1960 in St. Nazaire, France) is the defensive line coach for the National Football League Houston Texans.

Coaching career

Previously, Franklin coached the USC Trojans. He was the first choice of the San Antonio Riders of the World League of American Football in 1991, but instead opted to begin a coaching career. He was the defensive line coach at Fresno State from 1991 to 1998, the interior defensive line coach at UCLA in 1999, and the defensive line coach for the Green Bay Packers from 2000 to 2004. He was defensive line coach for the University of Southern California in 2005. In 2006, he was defensive line coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and since 2007, has been defensive line coach for the Houston Texans.

Playing career

Franklin grew up in San Jose, California, attended Yerba Buena High School, San Jose Community College, and graduated from Fresno State University in 1988. He played in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks in 1989.
