Islington ,London ) is an Englishstunt performer . He has worked as a double in many films (notably forTimothy Dalton in "The Living Daylights ",Roger Moore andMichael Caine in "Bullseye! ", andPierce Brosnan in "GoldenEye "), but is probably best known for hismotorcycle stunts.Starting his stunt career at the age of fourteen, he is the holder of many world records for jumping over cars and buses. In 1993 he jumped over the
Great Wall of China on a motorbike.In 1984,
Martech released a computer game based on Kidd's stunts titledEddie Kidd Jump Challenge .Eddie tried his hand at singing and released several singles, the biggest being "Leave it to the Kidd" (Decca FR 13795) a former Tony Blackburn show 'record of the week'
Despite performing over 3,000 jumps in his career, he did not have a motorcycle licence until 1995.
Kidd suffered serious head and pelvic injuries in a stunt bike crash at the
Bulldog Bash , held atLong Marston Airfield nearStratford-upon-Avon on6 August 1996 , when a landing went wrong. Doctors later told his parents that he could be in acoma for up to 10 years, but he regained consciousness within six weeks of the accident. Kidd was wheelchair-bound for several years afterwards, with limited co-ordination and speech, but he has since vowed to return to the world of stunts.Kidd appeared in an episode of Russell Brand's 2002 TV documentary series "" on the digital satellite channel
