HD 114762 is a yellow-white main sequence star approximately 132 light years away in the constellation Coma Berenices. To see it, one needs a telescope or good binoculars.

Planetary system

In 1989, a possible planet was found by David Latham from using Doppler spectroscopy. This planet wasn’t fully confirmed until 1996 by Geoffrey Marcy. It is one of the most massive planets found to date, massing 11 Jupiter masses. Although, more accurate mass is needed when inclination is known. This planet is very likely to be a brown dwarf or less likely a red dwarf with upper-mass limit 145 Jupiter masses. This planet orbits about the same distance and takes about the same amount of time as the planet Mercury, although eccentric.
