Inwood Forest is a community of 1,200 homes in near-northwest
Houston, Texas . The surrounding ares associated with Inwood Forest include Oaks of Inwood and Inwood North.The community's landmark was the now defunct Inwood Forest Country Club, a private
golf course on Antoine Drive. It is bordered by Acres Homes which is immediately to the east of Inwood Forest and Oaks of Inwood. A collection of apartment complexes serve as a counterbalance to the middle class housing in the area, starting just north of Antoine and Pinemont and concentrating through Tidwell, De Soto, Little York and Gulf Bank on Antoine Drive. It is located within a 30 minute commute fromDowntown Houston , theHouston Galleria , andGeorge Bush Intercontinental Airport ." There is a diverse population of retired professionals still living in Inwood Forest and as a result it is protected by one of the most active Community on Patrol groups in the state known as IFCOP.
Julie Grothues, president of the Inwood Forest Community Improvement Association, said in a 2008 "
Houston Chronicle " article that she saw children playing in the streets of Inwood Forest while she did not see any in 1978.Education
