Paul Stretford

Paul Stretford is an English football agent. His organisation Proactive Sports Management represent, amongst others, England footballer Wayne Rooney. During a failed legal action resulting from events surrounding Proactive's acquisition of Rooney as a client Stretford misled the court leading to the trial collapsing. Subsequently The Football Association charged him with misconduct over the acquisition of Rooney.

In 2007, Stretford appealed to the Court of Appeal, but it ruled in favour of the FA and disciplinary committee chairman Barry Bright, that the applied disciplinary proceedings did comply with article 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights, and that one of the FA rules was not unlawful restraint of trade.
