Nina KraftWomen's triathlon Competitor for Germany Ironman World Championship Silver 2002 Women's individual Bronze 2001 Women's individual Bronze 2003 Women's individual Nina Kraft (born December 31, 1968 in Braunschweig) is a German professional triathlete. Before turning professional, she used to work as a draughtswoman. As well as being a pro Triathlete Nina is also an accomplished artist. On her website Kraft states that she "uses art to help her switch off and relax".
Kraft was banned by the German Triathlon Federation (DTU), for one year, after a positive drugs test, and subsequently admitting to taking the performance-enhancing drug, Epoetin [1] [2]. This ban ended on November 12, 2005 and she is now free to race again. The privately owned WTC banned Nina from all Ironman events worldwide until October 16, 2006. On November 3, 2007 Kraft won the Florida Ironman with a time of 9 hours 5 minutes and 35 seconds, breaking the course record by 20 minutes. Kraft now lives and trains in Clermont, Florida.
Two recent 2009 marathon wins at Tallahassee (2:45) & Gasparilla (2:47) where Kraft claimed both the masters & overall female titles.
