Advocacy
Latino arts and culture is an essential and vibrant part of the nation’s identity. Organized for education, advocacy, and public policy development in the nonprofit arts field, the Association of Hispanic Arts works to promote a greater appreciation and understanding of Latino arts and culture. We advocate foundations, corporations, and elected officials to protect and support the multi-facetted Latino arts and cultural community. Our message is communicated through reports and forums, special information sessions for policymakers and our e-newsletter.Technical assistance
AHA offers a series of workshops to both Latino arts organizations and individual artists that address a variety of career and developmental needs. Given the difficulties faced by both individual artists and organizations to be viable, sustainable, and marketable in an increasingly competitive field, we offer workshops and seminars that emphasize sound business and fiscal management practices, accountability and transparency in nonprofit governance, grant writing, public relations and marketing, and legal and health issues.
Regranting
AHA’s Capacity Building Regrant Program is designed to support initiatives that support the organizational development and capacity building of small to medium sized Latino arts organizations.
AHA’s Arts in Education Regrant Program supports exemplary community arts and humanities programs that engage professional artists and arts organizations to foster the creative and intellectual development of our community’s most disadvantaged youth through hands-on, serious experiences in the arts resulting in improved self-esteem, self-discipline and responsibility.
