The Shorthead Lance Skink, "Acontias breviceps", is a species of skink.

These skinks can grow up to 10 cm long, and do not have legs. They are brownish pink, and are difficult to distinguish from earth worms. They eat small insects, and even ants, unlike almost all other lizards. The Shorthead Lance Skink digs deep burrows, and rarely appears above ground. Its habitat is sandy areas of South Africa. Lance skinks do have eyelids, but they are transparent.
