- George Murnane III
George Murnane III (nicknamed "Peter") is a former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of
Mesa Air Group . Mr. Murnane was appointed Executive Vice President of the Company effective December 2001 and Chief Financial Officer in January 2003, and was fired in November 2007. Murnane served as a director of Mesa from June 1999 until October 2003. From 1996 to December 2001, Murnane was a Director and Executive Vice President of International Airline Support Group, Inc., a redistributor of aftermarket commercial aircraft spare parts and lessor and trader of commercial aircraft and engines, most recently as its Chief Operating Officer. From 1995 to 1996, Murnane served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer ofAtlas Air , an air cargo company. In September 2007, Murnane was placed on leave from the airline after allegations surfaced that he had deleted data related to a lawsuit against Mesa brought by
Hawaiian Airlines . Mesa claimed that Murnane had been attempting to remove pornographic material from his computers. Following a court ruling that Murnane had intentionally and in bad faith deleted the evidence, the airline announced that he had been fired onNovember 5 ,2007 .
