Tartu Airport airport codes|TAY|EETU is 8 kilometres (5 miles) south of the city centre of Tartu in Estonia, near the Tartu-Võru highway. It is also called Ülenurme Airport due to its proximity to the village of Ülenurme.

There are no regular flights as of October 2007. The majority of flights are training flights by students of Tartu Aviation College.

History

The airport was opened in 1946. A new terminal building was built in 1981, and the runway and taxiway were also upgraded then. Since 2005 the airport has been owned by Tallinn Airport Ltd.

In 2008-2009 the runway will be lengthened to 1800 meters.

1268 passengers travelled via Tartu Airport in 2004.
