Hulsberg

Hulsberg (coord|50|53|N|5|51|E|type:city(3337)) is a village in the municipality of Nuth, in the Netherlands. It lies about 15 km east from Maastricht.

In 2001, Hulsberg had 3,337 inhabitants. Statistics are for the continuous built-up area.] The "district" of Hulsberg, which includes some of the surrounding countryside, has around 4,300 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2005).

Until 1982, Hulsberg was a municipality of its own. After the re-arrangement of the municipalities in the Netherlands, Hulsberg and Schimmert were merged with the municipality of Nuth.

Hulsberg is a favorite place to stay for tourists from the Northern and Western parts of the Netherlands. It has different accommodations in town (two campings, several hotels and motels). Hulsberg is only 3 kilometers from the famous tourist city of Valkenburg aan de Geul.

Hulsberg is also known for its radio mast (Zendmast Hulsberg), though the "Zendmast" stands on the territory of the municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul.
